J’NAI BRIDGES

 

A Magical night at the Opera on July 3rd.
Join us for a remarkable operatic evening featuring J’Nai Bridges, a celebrated American mezzo-soprano and two-time Grammy Award winner.

 

Renowned for her rich, expressive voice and commanding stage presence, J’Nai has earned the nickname the “Beyoncé of opera.” After her role debut as Carmen at San Francisco opera, Bizet’s heroine has become Bridges most performed role leading many productions worldwide.

 

Her impressive repertoire includes standout roles in works by renowned composers such as Bizet, Mahler, Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, Verdi, and Bernstein. Widely regarded as one of the foremost vocal talents of her generation, she graced the stages of prestigious venues, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and the Washington National Opera, Arena di Verona and Dutch National Opera.

 

J’Nai will present a captivating Bel Canto program in Beit Ed-Dine. The second half of the evening will feature contemporary works by Bernstein, Gershwin and others.

 

 

Jonathan Ware Pianist

Acclaimed for his spirited playing, Jonathan Ware is a prominent chamber musician and accompanist who regularly performs at leading venues worldwide, including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Elbphilharmonie.

 

Last season, he collaborated with notable artists such as Samuel Mariño, Simon Bode, and clarinetist Jonathan Leibowitz on a UK tour. He also worked with Timothy Ridout, Bilal Alnemr, and violinist Leia Zhu, and launched the Kinderlieder concert series for young children with Lydia Mankopf and Simone Easthope at the Pierre Boulez Saal.

 

In the 2024/25 season, Jonathan has new collaborations planned with Matilda Lloyd and will return to Wigmore Hall with tenor Robin Tritschler and violinist Hana Chang.

 

Jonathan has won several awards, including the Pianist’s Prize at Das Lied and the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song competitions. Originally from Texas, he now resides in Berlin, where he teaches at Hochschule Hanns Eisler and Barenboim-Said Academy, and serves as a mentor at various music institutes.
